As a developer of thirty plus years myself, I relate to this group very well. The world is very simple in our eyes, and so it should be: We spend our days learning how to communicate with machines that operate completely deterministically (even if it sometimes seems they are rolling dice to spite us, we know better). Our success depends on understanding the one right way to communicate with those computers. To allow ourselves to think that there could be nuance or variation in that communication would be to invite failure.
